For the second edition of the Festival Gouttes de théâtre, the Théâtre Français de Rome is pleased to present the opening show “1830 Sand Hugo Balzac tout commence…”
Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the Parioli Theatre Club at 21:00.

« A protean emotion bathes this wonderful literary soap opera. A piece to devour, to better grasp the fever of this century of political passions. »

L’EXPRESS

After a two-year in Paris, a tour of France and two festivals in Avignon, 1830 arrives on the Roman scene!

1830. Hugo leads romanticism, Sand leads the feminism, and Balzac invents realism.
Like their heroes, they are tormented and rebellious. Their private life is an inexhaustible source of anecdotes, political struggles and amorous passions.
Carried away in the explosive 19th century, the spectators accompanied Victor, George and Honoré, bulimics of work and love, in the midst of the geniuses of painting (Delacroix), the novel (Dumas), the theater (Musset) and the music (Chopin).
